Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has launched Citizen Smart Card Scheme 2021 in Mandvi. The new Citizens Smart Cards initiative is started in Mandvi municipality by CM via video link from Gandhinagar. Moreover, CM has also inaugurated the civic body’s new administrative building and auditorium. In this article, we will tell you about the complete process of how to apply online for the Citizen Smart Card in Gujarat.

The state govt. of Gujarat has launched Citizen Smart Card Scheme 2021. With the help of digital technology, the Gujarat govt. is committed to providing a corruption-free and transparent government.

How to Apply Online for Citizen Smart Card in Gujarat

The Gujarat government is providing a total of 51 services through digital platforms in 8,000 villages. Out of these, 35 services have already started through digital platforms. Mandvi Municipality’s Citizen Smart Card Scheme initiative will inspire other local bodies to follow the suit. The details of how to apply online for the Citizen Smart Card Scheme in Gujarat are not out yet.

The scheme has officially been launched in a single municipality for now and is expected to be expanded to other municipalities or at the state level. Only after its official launch, the state govt. will invite Citizen Smart Card Scheme application form. These registration forms may be invited through the state govt’s official https://www.digitalgujarat.gov.in/ website or at a new dedicated portal. Database of Families in Citizen Smart Card Scheme

Initially, the database of 700 families living in Mandvi town has been prepared for this new Citizen Smart Card Scheme. The database of households will have the following details:-

Residents AADHAR card
Ration card
Election card
Recent photographs in the Citizen Smart Cards

All the above-mentioned details of the families would be collected with their consent only.

Services Which can be Availed through Citizen Smart Cards

The data of the families which is collected would be stored in the central government’s digital locker. Once the data is ready, all the citizens will just have to carry the smart card for availing various civic services. Some of the civic services are income certificate, BPL certificate among others. Around 7 thousand families are going to be benefited from the Citizen Smart Card service.

Mokla Mane Samvad Programme

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also holds interactive deliberations with cattle owners from different districts under the Mokla Mane Samvad program. In this initiative, Gujarat Govt aims to maximize milk yield, conserve its native Gir and Kankrej cow breeds to the level of Kamdhenu. Animal husbandry is now treated at par with agriculture in Gujarat and the state govt. has also framed strong law to effectively check cow slaughter. Gujarat is self-sufficient in milk because cattle owners and dairy farming even keep the rural economy humming during the COVID-19 lockdown.
