IBPS PO Prelims Analysis 2024 Update: The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducted the Probational Officers (PO) preliminary exam today, October 20, 2024.
While the PO Prelims was held in four shifts- 9 am- 10 am, 11.30 am- 12.30 pm, 2 pm-3 PM, and 4.30 pm- 5.30 pm, candidates who had appeared in shift one analysed the paper as moderately difficult. Section-wise, English language paper was reviewed as easy to moderate, while Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability sections were analysed as a bit tricky and difficult, according to media reports.
However, the PO Prelims paper of October 19 was also reviewed as moderately difficult.
IBPS PO Prelims Analysis 202: Difficulty level (section wise)
While the IBPS PO Prelims consists of 100 questions; English language- 30 questions, Numerical Ability- 35 questions, Reasoning Ability- 35 questions., below is the section-wise good attempts for candidates.

This recruitment drive will fill out a total of 4,455 vacancies of probationary officers and IBPS clerks are for 6,148 vacancies. The category-wise vacancy released by IBPS for the Probationary Officer post is as follows:
UR- 1,645 vacancies
OBC- 1,049 vacancies
EWS- 385 vacancies
SC- 582 vacancies
ST- 294 vacancies
IBPS PO 2024: Selection process
The IBPS PO 2024 selection process consists of three stages:
Preliminary Exam: A qualifying test with 100 questions covering English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. Candidates must pass to advance to the next stage.
Main Exam: Includes both objective and descriptive sections. The objective test has 200 marks across Reasoning, Data Interpretation, English, and General Awareness. The descriptive section tests English skills through letter writing and essay (25 marks).
Interview: Shortlisted candidates from the mains attend a 100-mark interview.
