Maharashtra RTE Admission 2025: The Maharashtra school education department has begun the registration process for Right to Education (RTE) 2025 for 25 percent of reserved seats today. The parents of students will be able to fill out the Maharashtra RTE application form by visiting the official website i.e. student.maharashtra.gov.in. 

According to the official notification, “For the year 2025-26, under Section 12(C)(1) of the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, children from weaker and disadvantaged sections will be provided 25% reservations in self-financed schools, unaided schools, police welfare schools (unaided), and municipal schools (self-financed).”

The candidates are advised to fill out the online form of their children with accurate details, including home address, date of birth, income certificate, disability and caste certificate (if applicable). The candidates may note that the application window for the same will remain open till 27 January 2025.  

Maharashtra RTE Admission 2025: Eligibility criteria

Children whose parents have an annual income below Rs. 1 lakh qualify as economically weaker section (EWS) candidates and are eligible to apply. School Selection: Parents must choose up to 10 schools for their child while applying. 

The distance from the residence to each school should be accurately calculated using Google Maps. The home location can be adjusted up to five times using the balloon feature in the application portal.

Maharashtra RTE Admission 2025: Reservation criteria

The children from economically weaker sections (EWS) and other disadvantaged groups will be provided with 25% reservations in various schools across the state, including self-financed and unaided institutions, police welfare schools, and municipal schools.

The reservation comes under Section 12(C)(1) of the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, and aims to ensure equal educational opportunities for children from less privileged backgrounds.
