CBSE: PM Modi announces opening of New CBSE office in Dubai, Strengthening education ties with UAE

CBSE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the establishment of a new Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) office in Dubai, underscoring India’s commitment to delivering high-quality education in the UAE. This announcement was made during the ‘Ahlan Modi’ diaspora event in Abu Dhabi, where the Prime Minister also highlighted the educational achievements, including the initiation of a master’s course at the IIT Delhi campus and the upcoming opening of the CBSE office in Dubai.

These initiatives are aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for the Indian community in the UAE.

PM Modi, recognizing the close cultural and linguistic ties between India and the UAE, commended the accomplishments of both nations, citing them as exemplary for the world. Reflecting on his 2015 visit to the UAE, he shared a sense of kinship and warmth experienced during the reception by the Crown Prince, now the President.

Additionally, PM Modi emphasized India’s global recognition for mega infrastructure projects, vibrant tourism, and sports prowess. He highlighted India’s position as a vibrant tourism destination and a significant sports power. Discussing the digital revolution in India, PM Modi assured efforts to extend its benefits to the UAE, mentioning the sharing of RuPay card packs and the upcoming launch of UPI in the UAE for seamless payments between the two countries.

He also asserted India’s growing influence on the world stage, positioning the country as a ‘Vishwa Bandhu’ that extends assistance in times of crises.

The enthusiasm of the Indian diaspora in the UAE was evident, with registrations surpassing 65,000 and prompting organizers to close registrations. PM Modi’s bilateral meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan aimed at furthering the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, resulting in the exchange of multiple memoranda of understanding, including the interlinking of instant payment platforms – UPI and UAE’s AANI.

Addressing the Indian diaspora, PM Modi conveyed the pride of Bharat (India) in its citizens abroad. During the ‘Ahlan Modi’ event at Zayed Sports Stadium, he highlighted the connected hearts of people from various regions of the UAE and different states of India.

The Prime Minister’s visit included interactions with students from the IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi Campus, where he expressed the significance of the collaboration in initiating a new chapter in bilateral collaboration and fostering connections among the youth of both countries.

The establishment of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi campus in the UAE, a joint venture between IIT-D and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), aims to provide global higher education opportunities, particularly with the commencement of the first academic program, a Masters in Energy Transition and Sustainability, in January.

PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the BAPS Mandir, the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, further underscoring the cultural and religious ties between India and the UAE. The Prime Minister’s visit to the UAE is part of a broader itinerary, including a subsequent visit to Doha, spanning from February 13 to 14.
