Delhi’s heritage school gets new look

The NP Boys Senior Secondary School here, a heritage building built in the last century, has got a new look, thanks to the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

NDMC chairman Jalaj Shrivastava on Thursday inaugurated the heritage building on Mandir Marg after its restoration work was completed.

The school, originally the Municipal Boys High School, is located in the area administered by the NDMC.

Designed by a British architect in 1918, the school came up in 1931. It is built according to neo-classical façade, an NDMC statement said.

Srivastava said a comprehensive restoration work of the interior and exterior spaces was carried out “in keeping with the historic ambiance of the heritage building”.

The work was completed in 22 months and cost Rs.8.36 crore, he said.
