JoSAA Counselling: The deadline to respond to queries regarding deficiencies in the documents uploaded by students is 5 pm on July 11, 2023. Failure to respond will result in the cancellation of the allotted seat.

IIT, NIT, IIT, GFTI Admission: JoSAA Counseling 2023

The second round of JoSAA counseling for 57,182 seats in 116 institutes, including IITs and NITs, concluded on Tuesday, July 11, with the passing of the query response deadline.

The deadline for responding to queries received by students regarding deficiencies in uploaded documents is 5 pm on July 11, 2023. Failure to respond will result in the cancellation of the allotted seat. The seat allotment for the third round will be released on July 12, 2023, at 5 pm. The fourth and fifth seat allotment lists will be released on July 16 and July 21, respectively. The sixth and final allotment list will be released by July 28, 2023.

JoSAA Counselling: Three Options Available

On the other hand, students who have currently opted for the float and slide option can participate in further counseling by changing the float option to slide and the freeze and slide option to freeze. All students will have the opportunity to change their previously selected counseling options for participating in the further counseling process in each round within a specified period of time.

  • Freeze: Candidates are satisfied with the allotted seat and do not wish to participate in further seat allotment rounds.

  • Float: Candidates accept the allotted seat but are open to considering higher preference choices in subsequent rounds.

  • slide: Candidates accept the current seat but are willing to switch to a higher-preferred academic program within the same institute if it becomes available in later rounds.
