Indian Navy Sports Quota Recruitment 2021: The Indian Navy invites applications from outstanding unmarried sportsmen who have participated at International/ Junior or Senior National Championship/ Senior State Championship/ All India University Championships in Athletics, Aquatics, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Artistic Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Squash, Fencing, Golf, Tennis, Kayaking & Canoeing, Rowing, Shooting, Sailing and Wind Surfing. • During the initial training period, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be admissible. • Insurance cover– Insurance cover (on contribution) of Rs. 50 lakhs for all sailors is applicable.

How to apply for Indian Navy Sports Quota Recruitment 2021: Enrolment as Sailor

The application is to be submitted on A4 size paper only as per the given format on www.joinindiannavy.gov.in.

Only one application form is to be forwarded. Candidates who send more than one application for the same entry will be disqualified.

The type of entry, sports discipline with achievements is to be clearly written on top of the envelope containing the application. Envelopes should be of brown color.

Selection Criteria for Indian Navy Sports Quota Recruitment 2021

• Deserving candidates would be called to appear for trials at designated Naval Centers. The candidates qualifying trials will undergo a medical examination at INS Hamla, Mumbai.
• The offer of enrolment will be forwarded to the selected candidates only, which will be strictly determined by requirements in particular sports disciplines and the availability of vacancies. Request for change of venue of selection trials will not be entertained. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Medical Standards

1. Medical examination will be conducted by authorized military doctors as per medical standards prescribed in current regulations applicable to sailors on entry.
2. Minimum height 157 cms. Weight and Chest should be proportionate. Minimum Chest expansion of 5 cms.
3. Good mental, medical and physical health free from any disease/ disability, likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties.
4. Colour perception: CP II.
5. No Cardiovascular disease, surgical deformities like knock knee, flat feet, etc. Infection of ears, no history of fits or psychiatric ailment, varicose vein, corrective surgery for eyesight, etc.
6. The medical standard should be as per the detailed guidelines issued by IHQ MoD (Navy) in NO (Spl) 01/2008.
7. Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax and tartar removed from their teeth prior to examination.

Selection Procedure

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an exception is being made in the public interest wherein approximately 10000 candidates will be called up for written examination and PFT. The shortlisting of the candidates for written examination and PFT will be undertaken on the basis of the percentage of qualifying examination (10+2 examination). The cut-off marks may vary from state to state as vacancies have been allocated in a state-wise manner.

Written Test

• The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and objective type.
• The question paper will comprise four sections i.e. English. Science, Mathematics, and General Knowledge.
• The standard of the question paper will be that of 10+2 level and the syllabus for the examination is available on the website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in.
• The duration of the examination will be one hour.
• All candidates appearing for written examination would be subjected to PFT on the same day.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

• Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test (PFT) is mandatory for selection.
• PFT will consist of a 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squats (Uthak Baithak), and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.
