Jharkhand Old Age Pension Amount Raised: Jharkhand govt. is going to raise the assistance under the Old Age Pension, Widow (Vidhwa) Pension and Viklang (Divyangjan) Pension Scheme from Rs. 600 to Rs. 1000 per month. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the state government will launch a universal pension scheme to provide Rs 1,000 a month to all elderly people of the state. The state govt. wants that the entire 3.25 crore population of the Jharkhand must not suffer from lack of money and their lives could be changed.
The overall development of the state only comes with people’s participation. The state govt. wants to get rid of poverty through the power of people, government policies, and intent for development. For the upliftment of citizens, govt. has also started various schemes for the welfare of people. Now, govt. has raised the Jharkhand Old Age / Widow / Viklang pension amount or social security benefits for poor citizens.
Jharkhand Old Age / Widow / Viklang Pension Amount to Raise
In the upcoming Jharkhand Budget 2021-22, the state govt. will make an announcement regarding the increase in the Old Age Pension, Widow (Vidhwa) Pension, and Viklang Pension scheme. Now, all of these social security pension beneficiaries will get an increased amount from Rs. 600 to Rs. 1000 from the current fiscal year. Jharkhand Old Age pension amount would increase to Rs. 1,000 per month as announced by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on 26 January 2021.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also announced 75% reservation in jobs for the people of the state in the private sector. Announcing a host of welfare measures on Republic Day, Soren said the government will soon formulate a new domicile policy as well.
Jharkhand Universal Pension Scheme (Rs. 1000 p.m) for Elderly Citizens
The raised pension amount of Rs. 1,000 p.m in Jharkhand Universal Pension Scheme will be credited directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. This decision is going to impact hugely Old Age people, Widow women, and Persons with disabilities (PWDs) and will raise their living standards. In this Jharkhand Universal Pension Scheme, all the elderly senior citizens will now get Rs. 1000 per month as pension.
Moreover, the direct credit going into the beneficiary account would also help in eliminating the need of middlemen and thus reducing middlemen. The state govt. is consistently working towards ensuring that the pension scheme benefits reach the last person of the society.
Jharkhand govt. is committed to the welfare of farmers, poor youths, and women in the state. Moreover, the govt. is laying special emphasis on the old age people, widow (vidhwa), and disabled persons to ensure the holistic development of the society.
Other Announcements by Chief Minister Hemant Soren
In addition to the raising amount in Jharkhand Old Age Pension Scheme, a new domicile policy will be formulated and 75 percent of the posts in the private sector will be reserved for local people. Moreover, rules are being made for the appointment of teachers in minority schools also. CM further added that the construction of a 500-bed hospital is in progress on the premises of the medical college in Dumka, which will strengthen the healthcare facility in the Santhal Pargana Division.
Moreover, the ‘dhoti-sari’ scheme will also be launched under which a dhoti or a lungi and a sari will be distributed to 57 lakh poor families of the state at a subsidized rate of Rs 10 apiece. Jharkhand Old Age pension scheme raised amount would benefit all the senior citizens in the state who are availing pension benefits.
