From KBC Junior Winner to Superintendent of Police

The popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) introduced a special version for kids known as KBC Junior in 2001. Among the contestants was Ravi Mohan Saini, a 10th-grade student who decided to participate in the show with the simple desire of meeting the famous host. Surprisingly, at just 14 years old, Ravi answered all 15 questions correctly and emerged as the victorious winner, walking away with a staggering prize of Rs. 1 crore. Fast forward almost twenty years, and Ravi has now realized his dream of becoming an IPS officer.

In 2014, Saini successfully cleared the Indian Police Services exam and secured an impressive rank of AIR 461. Presently, he serves as the Superintendent of Police in Porbandar.

Throughout his academic journey, Ravi consistently excelled as a top-performing student and even completed his MBBS at Jaipur’s Mahatma Gandhi Medical College, without relying on any coaching classes for his UPSC preparations. The inspiration to join the Indian Police Service (IPS) came from his father, who served in the Navy.

Though faced with a setback when he didn’t pass the mains exam in 2012, Ravi’s determination and hard work led him to secure a position in the accounts and finance services of the Indian postal department in 2013. Eventually, in 2014, he fulfilled his aspirations by qualifying for the IPS with an impressive all-India rank of 461.
