UGC NET June 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for closing the registration window for UGC NET 2024 exam. Now the candidates can submit their applications by 15 May 2024 by visiting the official website i.e. ugcnet.nta.ac.in. 

According to the official notification, the NTA will close the registration window for the same on 15 May 2024. The candidates who have registered for this exam will be able to pay the fees till 16 May 2024 by 11:59 pm. The candidates can pay the required fees through credit card/ debit card/ net banking/ UPI.

UGC chairman M. Jagadesh Kumar posted on platform X (formerly known as Twitter),” Deadline for Online Submission of Application Form for UGC – NET June 2024 has been extended to 15th May. Best wishes to all the applicants.” 

This year, the UGC NET exam will be conducted on 18 June 18, 2024. The exam will be held for a duration of 3 hours. Candidates are advised to visit the official website and read the notification to check the eligibility criteria, examination details, syllabus, and other details.


UGC NET 2024: Documents required for registration 

  • Class 10th mark sheet

  • Class 12th mark sheet

  • Qualifying degree certificate

  • Passport size identical photo

  • Signature

  • Valid photo Id

  • Category certificate

  • Caste certificate 

UGC NET June 2024: Application fees 

Candidates interested in submitting the application for the UGC NET 2024 exam need to pay the application fee according to the category. Candidates belonging to the general category will pay Rs 1150, those from other backward classes (OBC-NCL) will pay Rs 600 whereas candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, or Transgender will pay Rs 325 as application fees.

  • Firstly candidates need to visit the official website i.e. ugcnet.nta.nic.in. 

  • Then, click on “Application for UGC NET June 2024”, displaying on the home page. 

  • A new tab will appear for UGC NET registration or login. 

  • Now, fill out the NET registration form by providing your required information.   

  • After registration, fill out the UGC NET application form 2024. 

  • Next, upload the required documents, pay the application fee, and submit. 

  • Download and take a printout for future reference.
